Services for the Elderly

EISEP
The Expanded In-Home Services for the Elderly program (EISEP) helps elders and their families delay or avert costly and premature placement in nursing facilities by combining case management services and non-medical supportive services. The state of New York established the program in 1987 to target frail elders with chronic physical and/or mental impairments who are not Medicaid eligible.

Senator John DeFrancisco's 2014 Senior Health Fair

State Senator John A. DeFrancisco has scheduled his 10th annual Senior Fair for Tuesday, September 16th from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm in the Horticulture Building at the New York State Fairgrounds. Senator DeFrancisco invites all Central New York senior citizens to this FREE event featuring more than 100 informational vendors, free health screenings and light refreshments.



I will be there as a spectator soaking it all in.

This is the best way to ensure that their choices are known, understood, and honored.

Fun in the Summer

Things are slowing down for this project this summer.  I figured it would.  So here is some fun.  Have a great 4th of July!

Run Site Update

I have talked with the County Parks department regarding holding the run/walk at the new Onondaga Lake Loop extension.  Since the county inaugurated the extension with a run/walk I thought it would be a slam-dunk.  Turns out the extension is too popular to use as a run/walk site.

Hopefully they will change their minds before the event is actually held.  It is such a beautiful trail with great views it would be a shame to not use it and help promote it.

So back to the drawing board for me.  Maybe we could just run/walk up over the bridge to the orange parking lots and back.  It would be different run/walking over the traffic instead of next to it.
Any other ideas?
